  •    For 261 years this Historic Farm has remained under the care of the Henderson Family descendants. Now, for the first time since the land grant form England, you have the opportunity to own this lovely 103 acre working farm. Located only 8/10 mile from the new Route 262 Bypass loop just south of the Historic City of Staunton, Virginia.

The stately residence incorporates over 3,100 square feet and encompasses the original log home. The original logs are visible from the walk-up floored attic as well as the log floor joists in the cellar.

Meadowbrook Farm is a very special property rich in Shenandoah Valley history and has continuously been called home to generation after generation of family members who have prided themselves in owning and working this lovely Shenandoah Valley farm.

The time has now come for a new season in the owners' lives and a rare opportunity for a timely buyer to own this lovely piece of Augusta County history.

The approach to Meadowbrook Farm is absolutely enchanting as you drive along a canopy of majestic trees that flank the graveled lane. This approach entices one to visualize horse drawn carriages, buggies, and buck board wagons that traveled this same lane for almost TWO CENTURIES.

Accessed via  scenic Middlebrook Road (Route 252)- which is one of the most beautiful drives you will find anywhere in the country. With frontage on a public hard surfaced Augusta County road, the property is easily accessible. Perfectly sited among a tall grove of trees, the residence enjoys precious privacy.

Meadowbrook Farm offers serenity, lovely views, lovely grounds, beautiful rolling pastures and a year round spring.  There are actually two springs in close proximity which are part of the never failing unofficially named "Henderson Creek".

The stately residence sits on gentle hillside surrounded by towering shade trees that have stood as faithful sentrys for perhaps hundreds of years. The front lawn is outlined by a smooth river rock wall that invites guests and owners to this welcoming property. The current owner reports the rocks were painstakingly gathered by hand around 1900 and brought to the property by a horse drawn wagon from a river bed in Lone Fountain Virginia. The same family member also crafted the rock work on the two car detached garage/machine shed.

An interesting historical note involves the detached structure directly behind the residence. This white outbuilding is known as "Wash House" which served as the family's laundry facility in the early years.

The land is gently rolling, has cross fencing and provides open pastures, a crop field and approximately 20 acres in mature hardwoods at the rear of the farm.

There are numerous hilltop potential future building sites. The farm offers wonderful privacy and wonderful mountain and valley views.

    ABOUT THE RESIDENCE:
The residence is well maintained and shows beautifully. The home is wrapped in white vinyl siding over clap board planks. The standing seam metal roof was installed approximately 10 years ago.

Double pane, double hung windows have been installed throughout the home.

This is an excellent, efficient heating system! The cellar also houses the hot water heater and provides storage for canned goods and a cool storage area for potatoes.

Approaching the front door one is greeted by a covered front porch which opens to the original portion of the log home which is now encompassed by the addition and renovations which were added Circa 1890 - 1910.
